Cheese Sauce:

Q: Can this be frozen?

A:This product has not been designed for freezing therefore unfortunately we cannot guarantee that there will not be any problems if you do so. Also we are unaware if freezing the sauce will affect the texture or flavour. As with all frozen food, the sauce as well as with any other food it is upon would have to be piping hot throughout before serving.

Q: How much salt (or sodium) is in your Cheese Sauce Mix?

A: There is approx. 1.3g of sodium per 100g of powder. This figure includes sodium which occurs naturally in some of the ingredients.

Q: How many calories are in the dry mix ( no water added)?

A: Per 100g of the dry mix there is approximately 378kcal.

Q: Does this product contain MSGs?

A: To our knowledge the Free and Easy Cheese Sauce Mix is MSG free.

Egg Replacer:

Q: How many eggs does the nutritional data represent?

A: The nutritional data on the egg Replacer is for the equivalent of 1 egg ( 3g Egg Replacer + 30ml water).

Q: What is the best way to add the Egg Replacer when baking?

A: The best way to use the egg replacer is to add the replacer to any other dry mix (e.g. flour, sugar etc.) then slowly mix adding the water at a steady flow. This way it will not create any lumps.

Vegetable Gravy:

Q: Does your gravy contain any form of potato?

A: Our gravy contains no form of potatoes, the starch comes from corn.

Cake Mixes:

Q: Why cant I sieve the mixture?

A: On most sieves everything will go through the mesh,  if your sieve is a fine meshed one you can get some of the larger sugar crystals that wont go through the sieve, this is because of the natural crystals in the Coconut Blossom Sugar, they are fine and can be added back in the mixture after the sieving.

Q: Why is the Carrot Cake Mix so runny?

A: The Carrot Cake Mix is the runniest of the cake mixes ,  but once baked the carrot and coconut take up the moisture from the mix and it bakes nicely.

Q: Why is the Cake Mix crumbly?

A: The cake has a much softer crumb to it, this is because there is nothing to “hold they cake together”.  In a cake which has been made with standard flour the gluten in the flour is what holds the cake together to make a firmer crumb. We also don’t want to start adding lots of gums and preservatives to our product as we want them to be as clean as possible.

Soups

Q: What herbs and spices do you use in your soups?

A: We use…herbs (parsley, lovage leaves), spices (lovage roots, fennel seeds).

Q: Where does your Maltodextrin come from?

A: The Maltodextrin comes from Potato.

Q: What is the brown substance in the bottom of the can?

A: The brown In the can is normal – just caramelised Kibbled Onion.
